Based out of the United States (preferred locations Pittsburgh, PA; Atlanta, GA; San Diego, CA; Irvine, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; Denver, CO) you’ll assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget for world class projects. You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive group of professional staff as you conduct data analysis, visualization, and reporting; develop automation and models; and collaborate on projects to engineer data solutions that allow the delivery of innovation products.

Here's what you'll need

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related field
  • Must be at least a rising Junior
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to work in one of the preferred locations for this internship (Pittsburgh, PA; Atlanta, GA; San Diego, CA; Irvine, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; Denver, CO)
  • Ideally, you’ll also have
  • 3.0 GPA
  • A previous internship related to your field of study
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization techniques for environmental data and projects
  • Experience with interactive web application frameworks such as RShiny or Streamlit
  • Experience with document authoring frameworks such as RMarkdown or Quarto
  • Knowledge of spatial data analysis and GIS fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of database management principles
  • Familiarity with development environments including Azure, Docker, and Linux
  • Proficiency in C++, Java, Swift.
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
