Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Network Technician to support the Network Refresh Project at NIAID.

How a Network Technician Will Make an Impact:
  • Install, pull, and terminate network cables
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful completion of the network refresh
  • Adhere to network design standards and best practices
Work Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

This is part-time position on an as-needed basis; 5:00 PM -2:00 AM; days may vary. Occasional travel to Frederick, MD will be required.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

Education: High School

Required Experience: Minimum of one year of related experience

Required Technical Skills:
  • Experience with network cabling and infrastructure
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be able to move up to 50 lbs
  • Able to rack & stack computer equipment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with labeling and documentation
  • Experience with network cabling and infrastructure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues as directed.
  • Good communication skills
Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with network cabling and infrastructure.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.56 - $35.94. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
