Your role as a Minor League, Strength & Conditioning Coach:
You will be responsible for creating and implementing performance enhancement programs for Minor League players under the San Diego Padres Strength & Conditioning protocols. You will lead team warm-ups to prepare athletes for training and competition. You will handle reporting and work with on-field staff to develop athletes’ movement patterns and efficiencies.

Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary rate for this full-time position is $58,656.00. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.

- Developing and implementing holistic performance enhancement programs for the San Diego Padres players at the minor league level under the San Diego Padres Strength & Conditioning system and protocols
- Leading and overseeing daily movement preparation program and team stretch/dynamic warm-up to prepare athletes for training sessions and competition
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Assisting medical staff as needed
- Integrating with on-field staff to improve players’ movement patterns and efficiencies
- Participating in continuing education opportunities and promoting a progressive culture through a growth mindset
- Reinforcing the organization’s initiatives in terms of strategy, day-to-day operations, organizational culture, employee expectation and performance reviews
- Assigned to a Padres minor league affiliate for the minor league baseball season and will be assigned to various off-season camps, including spring training in Peoria, AZ, as needed
- Other job duties as necessary
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish is strongly preferred
- Having previous experience working in a Strength & Conditioning program in collegiate or professional sports, or high-level private group training setting, is preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent from an accredited college or university, specifically in exercise-science or a similarly related field
- CSCS certification through NSCA is required
- CPR/AED certification is required
- Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
