Job Summary
The Clinical Applications Scientist- MR will work with a cross functional group, consisting of modality, commercial, and executive team members to increase United Imaging’s presence in the academic market space, by developing, nurturing, and maintaining clinical excellence with academic institutions in their use and implementation of clinical scanners in both the clinical and research space. Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of the physics and applications of the specific modality, in addition to being able to create, develop, elucidate, and implement clinical scanning protocols based on a particular institution’s needs. The Clinical Applications Scientist- MR will serve as the quarterback to navigate operational success of an institution’s clinical and research needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop strategy and execution plan to ensure the highest degree of utilization of the MR installed base in the Academic Market Space.
- Interact with academic, clinical, research leaders and other various MR users to understand clinical needs and translate and implement these needs into viable and exceptional scanning protocols on United Imaging equipment.
- Provide an exceptional and professional educational experience for MR technologists and clinicians to ensure a deep understanding of United Imaging MR technology, user interface and scanning protocols.
- Serve as voice of customer for feedback of clinical learnings to UIH product development and marketing teams.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the unique customer needs and be able to represent and shape those needs into a mutually beneficial clinical partnership.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients that have influence in UIH equipment decisions, including, clinical end users, radiology chairs, purchasing directors, medical school deans, radiology department heads, etc.
- Develop, nurture, and maintain academic customer references and an installed base in support of a national and international KOL strategy.
- Navigate competitive and research scanning protocols and know how to implement them on UIH MR scanners.
- Work with academic institutions and internal engineering to identify applications that need development, optimization, and validation in collaboration with partners.
- Actively evaluate other United Imaging customer standards of practice, activities, and protocols to share best practices across United Imaging luminary sites to enhance performance of all United Luminary customers bilaterally.
Education
- Master’s or equivalent experience in MR Imaging.
- ARRT (MR) certification.
- Candidates will have at least 10+ years of MR Imaging experience as a technologist with hands-on operation of MR Imaging systems.
- Extensive knowledge of MR physics and optimization of MR acquisition and reconstruction techniques.
- History of successfully training technologists on advanced MR applications.
- Experience managing cross functional teams, including technologists, scientists, physicians, and engineers.
- Clinical and research experience on a MR scanner, preferably at an academic medical center.
- Commercial engagement experience highly preferred.
- Ability to quantitatively assess clinical images and develop strategies for image quality improvement.
- Strong ability to create and develop MRI protocols from scratch.
- Ability to navigate complex situations and organizational structures and drive towards successful outcomes.
- Demonstration of a strong customer orientation, high energy and motivation, and willingness to travel within an assigned region.
