The Opportunity

We are seeking a Funds Control Analyst who can make an immediate impact inside our private lending division. The main objective is to receive, organize, analyze, approve, and facilitate the release of renovation and construction draws. This position is client facing and will support both borrowers and lender/investor clients. The private lending team operates in a speedy environment where attention to detail, organization, and compliance are of utmost importance. You must be able to quickly switch gears, stay focused, and prioritize a heavy workload. What You'll Do

  • Review the scope of work for renovation loans provided by the borrower and ask questions
  • Help borrowers break the scope of work into phases and reiterate our funds control processes to include how to correctly submit a draw request
  • Audit renovation loans monthly to ensure each has a phased breakdown and follow up accordingly
  • Ensure, when applicable, a fully executed funds control/escrow agreement is on file for the renovation loans
  • Contact permit authority, general contractor, and other 3rd parties as needed
  • Receive, organize, and analyze borrower draw requests, ask questions, and compare to phased breakdown
  • Deny borrower draw requests, communicate with them on why and what is needed to approve
  • Approve and facilitate the release of borrower draw requests
  • Communicate with lender/investor and/or escrow to get draws released
  • Communicate with borrower to ensure funds were received
  • Communicate changes regarding the scope of work or phased breakdown to the lender/investor
  • Communicate with the borrower’s insurance agent at project completion to see if the policy needs adjustment
  • Receive, review, and organize notice of intent to lien, lien waivers, and other similar documentation
  • Contact material suppliers, contractors, and/other tradesmen; investigate and mitigate as needed
  • Escalate potentially problematic loans/situations to leadership
  • Work in tandem with and support loan underwriting and coordination
  • Participate in regular private lending team meetings




What Qualifies You

  • Passionate about real estate and lending
  • 2 years of property construction experience/knowledge
  • Project management experience/knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a comfortability using video, telephone, text, and email (and enjoy it)
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to stay firm and adhere to company policy
