Construction Estimator

Jennings Mechanical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team in Charleston, SC. This role offers an opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in construction estimation, working closely with experienced professionals in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project requirements.
• Work closely with project managers and field teams to gather necessary information and provide support during the bidding process.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and compile data to generate material and labor cost estimates.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify project scope as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining an organized and up-to-date database of historical costs, bids, and project information.
• Assist in identifying potential risks and opportunities related to project costs and timelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• A strong desire to learn and grow within the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with estimation software is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
