Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr Developer in Durham, North Carolina. This role is primarily remote, focusing on the development of high volume, low latency applications for critical systems in our industry. The Sr Developer will work closely with other team members and utilize their coding skills to deliver high-quality IT solutions that meet our customers' needs.
Responsibilities:
Independently perform the analysis, design, and development of high volume, low latency applications for mission-critical systems.
Write well-designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and complex IT solutions.
Collaborate with other IT specialists to rapidly develop and deliver stunning solutions that meet changing business needs.
Provide strong technical expertise in Java, CSS BEM, and Sass.
Build web components with the lighthouse team.
Effectively communicate and resolve development and production issues in a timely manner.
Continuously research and stay abreast of technology trends and IT best practices.
Evaluate options and make solution buy vs. build recommendations to management when requested.
Independently execute all assignments after performing necessary discovery and fact finding to fully understand more complex business problems and opportunities.
Provide direction and assistance to less experienced team members.
Requirements
Must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Demonstrable research skills, including the ability to identify and understand emerging technology trends.
Solid understanding and experience in design, particularly within the context of software or web app development.
Proficiency in Java, CSS, SASS, and R Code is required.
Should have experience in component selection, ensuring the best fit for project requirements.
Experience in executing projects in line with best practices in the field of software development.
Ability to manage production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution.
Familiarity with IT solutions, particularly within the context of software development.
Experience in working with vendors, including negotiating contracts and managing relationships.
Proficiency in using Lighthouse and other similar tools for website auditing and performance optimization.
Knowledge of QA management, ensuring the highest quality in all software development projects.
Understanding of low latency programming, optimizing software for speed and efficiency.
Proven experience in discovery and fact finding, identifying key project requirements and potential challenges.
Familiarity with hiring processes, particularly within the software development industry.
Must have an understanding of the concept 'About Time' and its application in project management.
