S ummary

The Graphic Designer provides marketing support primarily via visual design for all CFT brands and programs, including North Texas Giving Day. This position is responsible for day-to-day deliverables that aim to create brand awareness, to further our mission-driven work, and to drive client leads and donations. They will collaborate with many people across the foundation and are responsible for consistent and cohesive messaging that speaks to the CFT community at large, as well as to specific target audiences among CFT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Brand Awareness

  • Design and maintain standardized CFT collateral materials to present a cohesive brand image.
  • Develop and maintain CFT’s brand communication standards and brand asset libraries, while serving as a “brand champion.” Support the implementation of visual brand standards across the organization.
  • Maintain branding guidelines for each of our brands, and regularly share branded assets and templates with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Create and design branded materials, marketing collateral, and digital communications for CFT, (supporting CFT’s North Texas Giving Day and Educate Texas as needed).
  • Review all branded materials created by other departments to meet CFT brand standards.
  • Provide cross-departmental graphic design and marketing efforts that target critical external and internal stakeholders, including donors, professional advisors, nonprofits, foundations, general public , board, and staff.
  • Manage internal brand needs including business cards, letterhead, name badges, etc.

Graphic Design and Asset Management

  • Design visual assets, web graphics, invitations, marketing materials, presentations, electronic and print newsletters, brochures, and promotional items, etc. using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Canva.
  • Manage/execute entire creative process of CFT’s annual communication materials, including but not limited to: Annual Report, Impact Magazine, prospect communications, fundholder events, etc. This process includes (1) introducing potential themes, (2) concept development, (3) designing initial drafts, (4) presenting drafts for review, (5) preparing final drafts according to proposed edits (6) reconditioning final product into production formats.
  • Create PowerPoint, Canva, email and other templates to be used throughout the organization.
  • Design graphics for CFT’s social media channels as needed.
  • Help implement and maintain our digital asset management system, including general brand, photography, and video assets.
  • Organize and manage source files, photography, illustrations, and videos for core CFT and all staff.
  • Contribute to the editorial processes for developing content, developing visual assets, coordinating printing, production, publishing, mailing, and/or digital distribution.
  • Maintain, order, create, edit/update, and replenish prospect and stewardship materials.
  • Create materials and presentations for CFT’s annual events as needed (Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy, Professional Seminar, GiveWisely, Fund Holder Appreciation Events, CFT for Business Events, Educate Texas, etc.)
  • Collaborate with outside vendors as needed.
  • Support CFT events needs such as event collateral, signage, materials, names for photographer, or taking photos and live social media reporting and/or other duties as assigned.
  • Implement relevant trends and best practices into communication strategies by collaborating with the Marketing and Communication Team.
  • Showcase marketing and design expertise through ongoing learning and research of industry best practices and latest advancements.

Qualifications / Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; specific degree in marketing or graphic design preferred.
  • 3-5 years successful experience in graphic design and/or marketing/communications.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Mailchimp or other email marketing platform experience.
  • WordPress CMS experience.
  • Sprout or other social media management experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is extremely important.
  • Excellent communicator: verbal and written.
  • Optimistic problem-solver with the ability to think critically.
  • Dependable with the ability to follow through and keep to commitments.
  • Diligent project manager with ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously while interacting with all levels of staff and external constituents.
  • At ease communicating with internal/external stakeholders across a broad range of topics.
  • At ease with ambiguity. Can handle undefined assignments and self-motivated to reach goals.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, forward-thinking and creative.
  • Ability to effectively manage plans and activities to the budget.
