Risk Compliance Analyst

Position Title: Risk & COMPLIANCE Analyst Location: Roseland, NJ or 100 % Remote 06+ Months Contract

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Controls Analyst with expertise in controls documentation, procedures, and alignment to the NIST standard. This remote position requires strong communication and writing skills, along with in-depth knowledge of NIST guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Documenting niche controls within the organization, ensuring alignment with NIST standards.
Assisting control owners in developing and refining control procedures.
Conducting controls inventory and scheduling meetings with relevant control owners.
Engaging in discussions to understand existing controls in specific areas and proposing enhancements.
Collaborating with control owners to guide them through the controls revisioning process.
Providing consultative support to control owners, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of compliance and control terminology.
Translating technical information into clear and concise written documentation.
Addressing operational procedures for documented controls and facilitating smooth integration into daily operations.
Special emphasis on controls related to IT processes

Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in controls documentation and procedures.
Proficiency in NIST standards and frameworks, especially NIST 800-53.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Ability to engage with control owners and guide them through control documentation processes.
Strong listening skills to understand and interpret technical information accurately.
IT knowledge and background are essential, preferably with experience in IT auditing.
Ideal candidate has a desire to work on NIST-related projects, potentially in a government context.
Previous experience in a controls analyst role with a minimum of 5 years; knowledge-based proficiency is prioritized over years of experience.
