Database Administrator | Oracle

Our client is looking for an experienced Database Administrator. The position can be remote, but may require monthly on-site meetings in Tallahassee, FL

General Characteristics:

Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration. Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

Preferred Abilities and Knowledge:

• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with Oracle, preferably 19C and Cloud;
• Strong experience with database backup procedures and recovery systems;
• Experience with Oracle tools and utilities, including Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Oracle Data Guard, Oracle SQL Developer, and Toad;
• Strong understanding of SQL and PL/SQL and ability to write complex queries;
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information;
• Ability to work well with system administrators and application developers while troubleshooting issues; and
• A four-year degree in a computer science related field, and Oracle DBA certification.
