PC Technician in Hardware Warehouse (Depot)

Onsite: Colorado Springs, CO
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM MST

Duties:
Contributes to the IT Support job family in a support capacity. Assists with configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading computer systems, hardware, and software. Performs a broad range of tasks to provide operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, such as application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices. Works independently, prioritizing tasks and meeting agreed-upon timelines. Work is subject to frequent review by more experienced Technical Support professionals.
This position is within a hardware depot that fulfills hardware deployment requests related to new hires, break-fix deployments, and device refreshes.
Under direct supervision, assists with hardware depot-related functions, including imaging desktop and laptop computers, managing inventory, testing/troubleshooting various computer, network, and telecommunications equipment, preparing devices for end users, packaging hardware for shipment, receiving supplier shipments, auditing inventory, responding to email escalations, and providing hardware technical support.

  • Serve as the point of contact to fulfill hardware replacement requests via the Service-Now ticketing system
  • Receive, package, and ship hardware as required
  • Update asset records and close tickets in a timely manner
  • Communicate and cooperate with customer-facing support teams regarding hardware deployments
  • Image laptop and desktop computers
  • Configure Cisco desk phones and Meraki VPN appliances
  • Maintain records of inventory counts, identify common trends, and anticipate future needs
  • Handle box building and shipping label creation
  • Work and communicate effectively as part of a team

Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Foundational understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and bend over to package/tape boxes
  • Ability to identify timeline challenges early, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Take responsibility for and ownership of deliverables
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Service-Now or other ticketing system experience; Active Directory experience is desired but not required
