Job Description:

For a Load Balancer Engineer with a security focus at Client s, the role would emphasize maintaining network security while ensuring high availability and reliability of services through load balancing solutions. Below are key aspects of what such a position typically entails.

Key Responsibilities

Security-Centric Load Balancing Solutions: Design and manage load balancers (e.g., F5 Big-IP, Citrix ADC) to prevent malicious traffic, ensure encryption with SSL/TLS offloading, and block unauthorized access.

Cloud Network Security Integration: Implement secure load balancing strategies across multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid environments.

Threat Detection and Mitigation: Use load balancers as an integral part of defense-in-depth strategies to handle DDoS attacks and other traffic anomalies.

Compliance and Policy Implementation: Ensure that load balancing configurations comply with security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI-DSS) and internal guidelines.

Security Automation and Monitoring: Develop automation scripts (using Python, Ansible, Terraform) to enhance security controls, automate responses to attacks, and ensure load balancer configurations remain consistent and up to date.

Collaboration with Security Teams: Work closely with security operations (SOC) and network security teams to ensure seamless integration of network monitoring tools, like IDS/IPS.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Experience with F5 Big-IP, Citrix ADC, or similar technologies with a focus on security configurations.

Deep knowledge of SSL/TLS, WAF (Web Application Firewall), and security certificate management.

Familiarity with cloud security best practices across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

5+ years of experience in network security, including DDoS protection, IPS/IDS integration, and automated defense solutions.

Certifications such as F5 Certified Administrator, AWS Security Specialty, or CISSP are highly advantageous.
