Intern - Software Engineers are responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software for existing or new products/applications. The code you create by may be used in commercial, end-user applications and internal tools that improve efficiencies supporting our diverse industry segments and clients. Using current programming languages and technologies, you will write code, perform application testing and debugging, and document and create procedures for installation and maintenance. As an Intern - Software Engineer, you may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. As you advance in your career, you will become a forward-thinking leader, capable of communicating complex ideas to solve problems faced by users and clients.

Internship Details:

  • Start date is January 13th, 2025
  • This internship will be REMOTE
  • Anticipated graduation date is December 2025 or May 2026.
  • 40 hours/week work dedication during summer and breaks, 20-25/week during the semester


What you will do:

  • Make improvements to Spring.Boot/Java APIS
  • Develop tools that support Acxiom's Daas platform
  • Help senior engineers find new solutions to challenging problems
  • Manage time, responsibilities, and priorities effectively with emphasis on contribution
  • Share opinions and ideas openly with teammates
  • Begin to understand fundamentals of work estimation
  • Learn about Acxiom's core business and procedures through Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Work in a teaming environment
  • Create code that is well-formed and adheres to Acxiom guidelines (readability)
  • Follow code plan provided by more senior staff
  • Adhere to professional standards of conduct
  • Establish relationships with Acxiom partners and grow those relationships as your career grows


What you will need:

  • Student pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with a minimum 3.25 Major GPA. (Junior/ Senior preferred)
  • A foundational understanding of software languages
  • Java or other OOP Language (C++/C#/Python/Ruby)
