We are looking for a talented Accounting Supervisor to join our team specializing in Finance in Fridley, MN.

*In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: *
  • Create processes and procedures for Accelera project accounting implementation and revenue recognition.
  • Continue to standardize and improve plant accounting processes for implementation at all PSBU plants.
  • Continue to work on right environment initiatives, including team building across all PSBU plants.
  • Policy Implementation: Implementing accounting policies under the guidance of the Accounting Manager will help maintain compliance and standardize procedures.
  • Process Optimization: Developing and refining processes to accurately capture, track, and report financial data will enhance the organization's financial reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Compiling, reviewing, and analyzing complex financial information will provide valuable insights for decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance: Reviewing account reconciliations and financial statements will ensure accuracy and reliability in financial reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identifying control weaknesses and leading remedial actions will strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Manage Complexity: Analyze complex, high-volume, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively, ensuring sound decision-making.
  • Conduct Business Process and Internal Control Risk Analysis: Evaluate business processes to identify risks and internal control gaps, develop and implement process improvements, and create risk management plans to address identified risks.
  • Perform Financial Analysis: Interpret financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities, and risks to provide insights to stakeholders, ensuring the integrity of financial data and driving business improvement.
  • Leverage Financial Internal Controls: Assess internal controls and develop remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks, adapting to changing business needs.
  • Understand Financial Regulations: Evaluate applicable financial regulations to ensure compliance, and educate stakeholders on key requirements and implications.
  • Conduct Technical Accounting Assessments: Evaluate and research transactions to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
  • Apply US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP): Record transactions in compliance with US GAAP, assess accounting requirements, and communicate implications to stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.

Experience:
  • Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required, including some supervisory experience.
