EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is in search of a Construction Inspector IA to join our Anne Arundel County pavement team!

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

In your role as a Construction Inspector, your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of construction sites, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities, to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Documenting and reporting any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections.
  • Collaborating with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Assisting with the review and interpretation of construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Learning and applying industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation.
  • Participating in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment.
  • Communicating effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction-related concerns and provide guidance.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • MD SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager and Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Personnel certifications
  • The ability to obtain Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) certifications-such as Asphalt Field Technician, Concrete Field Technician, Soils & Aggregate Compaction Technician, and Pavement Marking Technician-within 6 months
  • Proficiency with eConstruction applications, such as Fulcrum
  • Proficiency in math and English
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains
