The Opportunity

The Manager of Application Data Integration will report to the Director of Technology Architecture & Solutions. The highly skilled and experienced Manager will have a strong background in data integration, particularly with HL7 and Mulesoft, and will be responsible for architecting integration solutions, managing a team of integration engineers and specialists, while ensuring compliance with data integration and security standards. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively collaborate with customers and other internal teams to prioritize and execute work requests.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience with HL7, APIs, FHIR, Mulesoft, Ensemble or similar integration platforms

Be an excellent leader with team management skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams

Project management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering complex integration projects on time and within budget

Knowledge of cloud-based integration solutions and services

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data integration specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.

Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

Develop and implement training programs to keep the team updated with the latest technologies and best practices in data integration.

Customer Collaboration:

Work closely with healthcare providers, payers, and other stakeholders to understand their data integration needs and requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide technical expertise and support to customers, addressing any issues or concerns related to data integration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with other internal teams, including IT, clinical, and business units, to prioritize and manage work requests.

Facilitate effective communication and coordination between teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.

Architecting Integration Solutions:

Design and architect robust data integration solutions using HL7, Mulesoft, and other relevant technologies.

Develop and maintain integration architecture documentation, including data flow diagrams, interface specifications, and technical design documents.

Ensure that integration solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.

Data Integration and Conversion Standards:

Ensure all data integration solutions comply with relevant standards, including HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data exchange protocols.

Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive patient information and comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.

Oversee data conversion aspects of each project, ensuring accurate and efficient data migration between systems.

Develop and implement data conversion strategies, including data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.

Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity and quality throughout the conversion process.

Works with managers and directors to establish the team's goals and objectives, often participating in the definition of work products and timelines.

Manages the day-to-day activities of a team of Digital professionals. Focuses on producing the team's deliverables on-time and within budget.

Employs service management, product management and/or project management methodologies to deliver high quality work products.

Consistent with Mass General Brigham's Human Resources policies, attracts, retains and develops high quality staff. Establishes and maintains a work environment conducive to high performance. Addresses the training and professional development needs of the staff.

Interacts with clinicians, staff and various levels of management to communicate the status of the team's efforts.

Promotes and encourages a high-quality customer service experience for all customers - internal and external.

Collaborates well with other teams to produce results.

May work directly with 1-2 vendors to assure delivery of contracted services and products.

May work on several medium to high complexity projects and/or services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    5+ years of related experience; experience in healthcare a plus.

    A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
  • Responsible for a team of 6 or more staff, consultants or other temporary staff.
