The Windows + Devices Design and Research Studio is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to drive UX Health research programs for Windows, Windows 365, Devices and Education. This role is pivotal in driving the quality and effectiveness of our user experiences through comprehensive measurement and evaluation programs. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will develop and lead initiatives to build UX metrics that integrate and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to build Experience Quality scorecards and inform product development.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years of experience executing UX research in industry, a strong mixed methods research background, thorough experience developing UX evaluation programs, effective communication and storytelling skills and the ability to work across a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience
    • OR Doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 1+ year(s) User Experience Research experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Ability to incorporate a variety of data types and sources to develop holistic product understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly present complex research findings to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Familiarity with UX measurement tools, analytics platforms, and statistical analysis software.


UX Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Drive UX Programs: Lead the creation and implementation of UX measurement programs that evaluate the quality and impact of user experiences across W+D products.
  • UX Metrics and Benchmarking: Establish and maintain UX metrics and benchmarks to measure the performance of W+D experiences. Partner with strategy team to align key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure they align with product goals and user needs.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Research: Design and conduct mixed-methods research studies to gather insights. Use a variety of tools and techniques to collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources, including surveys, usability tests, and analytics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate UX research findings into the product development process. Partner with data science to represent a holistic view of product health. Provide actionable insights that drive decision-making and product improvements.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Present research findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior leadership. Advocate for holding quality of user experience alongside business metrics and ensure their needs are central to product strategy and design.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX research and apply this knowledge to enhance research methodologies and outcomes.
