As the Executive Director - Head of Data & Analytics Strategy, you will be pivotal in shaping the firm's data strategy, ensuring that data is leveraged for maximum business outcomes, and helping Lines of Business adopt a data-centric culture of decision making

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be accountable for defining and executing the Data & Analytics strategy, covering data platforms, tools, and products to support strategic business objectives, advanced analytics, and decision-making processes. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure data initiatives align with business needs and drive impactful results. You will also manage stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Your role will involve communicating complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and supporting senior management with high-quality storytelling and strategic insights.

The role is truly strategic in nature, it will require the candidate to Excel at communicating and interfacing with senior stakeholders, leveraging a blend of analytical skills and business acumen to drive impactful results that inform strategic decisions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement the Data & Analytics strategy to support business objectives, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to translate business needs into data-centric initiatives.
  • Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Provide strategic insights and storytelling for senior leadership forums and ad-hoc requests.
  • Drive alignment through constant engagement with stakeholders, incorporating their feedback and shaping their thinking.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
  • Manage dependencies and build strategic partnerships across different teams.
  • Establish a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting data use in decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
  • PhD or MSc in a scientific field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).
  • 10+ years of Financial Services technology experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy (in-house or consulting firm).
  • Fluency in technical Data and Analytics concepts and practices.
  • Strong storytelling capabilities and ability to communicate complex concepts to senior leadership.
  • Strong commitment to iterative development and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment, feedback incorporation, and transparency throughout the project lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
  • Ability to quickly develop hypotheses and plans for refinement.
  • Outcome-oriented with a fundamental understanding of business constraints.
  • Experience with Cloud and Big Data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake).
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML/Advanced Analytics for impactful outcomes.
