The Specialist provides operational and technical support for Event Production Services. The position also assists with setting up and general support for conferences and events.

Description of Duties

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support for events and conferences.
  • Operate web-conferencing and other technology, such as Newtek Tri Caster Systems.
  • Operate digital audio consoles to mix live audio for speech and live performance.
  • Provide back-up support for audio/video operations in other departments where/when needed and workload permits.
  • Record conferences, workshops, and other events as assigned.
  • Trouble shoot audio and video systems quickly.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and update systems.

Conference/Event Set-Up

  • Set up lighting, rigging, production audio, production video and basic event power systems.
  • Ensure the technology requirements needed for clients.

General Conference/Event Support

  • Provide back-up support in other departments.
  • Utilize, troubleshoot PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Associate' s Degree or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Experience

  • Two years of working experience.
  • Experience with conference/event equipment and audio and video systems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must have ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Must be able to operate and troubleshoot standard and advanced media systems.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and external customers.
  • Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
  • Ability to travel locally.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations

Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.

Light to moderate lifting (50 lbs.) may be required. Evening and weekend work is required. Occasional travel required.
