Supports the success of ASF through social media marketing, communication campaigns and brand awareness. Works with the Executive Director and ASF team to assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing social media, marketing and communication strategies designed to raise funds for and to promote community awareness of ASF programs and services. Responsible for meeting an annual social media growth target and specific communication metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Executes a results-driven social media, marketing and communications strategy.
  • Develops and curates engaging content for social media platforms and marketing emails.
  • Designs content graphics for email marketing, event marketing and social media.
  • Assists with creating and editing written, video, and photo content.
  • Attends events and produces live social media content.
  • Maintains a unified brand voice across different communication platforms including social media channels.
  • Collaborates with the ASF team to create a social media and communications calendar.
  • Monitors social media channels for industry trends.
  • Interacts with users and responds to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Reviews analytics and creates reports on key metrics.
  • Assists in developing and managing social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.
  • Represents the Autism Strong Foundation in a positive manner at all times, including working with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Works at special events as directed, covering the event through posts, stories, and live video streaming. Expected to be a team-player and assist with set-up and tear-down of events.
  • It is the responsibility of all Autism Strong staff members to recruit, train and work with volunteers and to treat all clients, volunteers, guests, and other employees in a courteous and respectful manner at all times while maintaining a cooperative atmosphere for everyone.
  • Carries out any additional assignments required to fulfill the Mission of the foundation.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; previous nonprofit experience is highly desirable.

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of marketing, communications or social media experience, nonprofit preferred. Significant expertise with the area’s social media and influencer community highly desirable. Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in marketing.

Skills and Abilities: Mastery of the following programs: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, MailChimp, Canva, Text Marketing. FB advertising experience preferred. Passion for communications through marketing and social media. Additionally:

  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented to manage event timelines and marketing processes.
  • A team player committed to developing and working within a collaborative environment and to ensuring the highest volunteer and donor service orientation.

Location: Work Remote and On-Site Events in the Greater Charlotte and Raleigh Regions

Hours: Flexible hours averaging 20 per week, understanding that weeks leading up to major events may go over that but balance will be in place other parts of the year. Occasional nights and weekends required as needed to support special events and related committee meetings.

Travel: Requires occasional travel within the region.
