Location: 11149 Research Blvd., Austin, TX, 78759.

Schedule: Applicants for this position must be available to work in person Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Summary: The Financial Analyst provides support to the Finance Department to complete in-depth financial analysis that will assist with management business decisions, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives. Financial Analyst will also assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Professional attitude with a desire to learn.

Essentials Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare investment activity journal entries, subsidiary schedules and maintain investment records.
  • Maintain and reconcile various general ledger account analyses and subsidiary schedules, adjusting entries and perform quarterly peer analysis.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical reports and other analyses.
  • Perform data entry into the Asset/Liability Management model for preparation of management and statistical reports.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
  • Review certain schedules prepared by others in the department.
  • Perform various ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Research general ledger accounts to identify differences between actual and budgeted activity and communicate findings to Finance management.
  • Work cross-functionally to assist with developing goals and analyzing performance.
  • Adhere to credit union policies and procedures, and applicable regulations and laws related to duties performed.
  • Effectively apply internal and external member service practices and processes to meet quality standards and achieve member satisfaction.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions, and ideas of others.
  • The Financial Analyst is cross trained on other positions within the Accounting/Finance department to assist with performing certain duties and responsibilities when needed.
  • Communicate to the CFO and VP of Finance in areas where department operations could be improved.
  • Communicate to CFO and VP of Finance training needs for the position.
  • Attend training deemed necessary by management to support the operation of the accounting department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • A four-year accounting/finance degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel a must). Attention to detail and accuracy required. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
