Purpose of this position:
The Accounting Manager will be instrumental in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in the company’s day-to-day accounting and administrative operations. This role will be crucial in supporting the company's financial health by bringing structure to month-end close procedures, assisting with cash management, and developing scalable processes. Additionally, managing and leading the accounting staff will be central to maintaining operational excellence. This position is full-time in San Antonio, TX, or surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
- Leadership, Management, and Accountability
- Oversee the daily workflow of the accounting department
- Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members
- Manage day-to-day escalations for a small accounting team
- Ensure accuracy and quality of team’s work as needed
- Month End Close
- Oversee Revenue Recognition and Ensure Daily Bank Reconciliation
- GL / AR / AP
- Follow accrual-based GAAP accounting standards
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Maintain prepaid and fixed asset amortization records
- General Administration
- Payroll & Commission
- Benefits Enrollment, Workers Comp Insurance and 401K
- HR Administration - though not strategic HR
- Accounting process
- Prepare and approve journal entries
- Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Assist with budget planning and related activities
- Manage relationships with vendors and customer accounts
- Collaborate with other departments to generate relevant, timely financial reports
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and trends
- Work with consultants and resources to improve and automate accounting processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related experience
- Previous experience with Acumatica is highly preferred, or familiarity with implementing a new ERP system
- 3-7 years of accounting experience (1-2 years owning the month-end close process; 1-2 years of revenue recognition)

- Strong understanding of accrual-based GAAP accounting standards
- Demonstrated track record of practical, proactive, and precise verbal and written communication
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask
- Ability to problem solve with the accounting team and with other departments
- Strong project management skills and ability to work in a collaborative team setting
- Solid critical thinking skills (e.g., ability to conceptually frame problems and to identify solutions)
