Position: Commercial Acquisitions Analyst – New York City
Role Overview
We are seeking a candidate to fill the position of Commercial Acquisitions Analyst to assist the Retail Acquisitions team in acquiring real estate investment properties.
**Hybrid schedules available, however at least 3 days a week in the office is required.**
Primary Focus
- Organize the team's investment pipeline and monitor potential opportunities across targeted markets.
- Develop analyses and reports to enhance our understanding of market trends and investment opportunities and prepare presentations for use at acquisitions meetings
- Participate in all aspects of the deal process including underwriting property level cash flows, market research, rental and sales comp analysis, IC memos and presentations, due diligence, and closing.
- Research and produce thorough and accurate underwritings of potential acquisitions to prepare complex and sophisticated valuation and cash flow analyses
- Research and analyze U.S. real estate markets and submarkets
- Reads, abstracts and analyze complex legal real estate related documentation to include leases, financing/loan agreements, mortgage documents, partnership agreements, and corporate financial statements
- Assist the Senior Acquisitions team with all the tasks in the vetting, due diligence, and closing on the purchase of retail real estate assets including review of the business plans, third party reports, leases, and market research.
- Some travel may be required
Primary Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years of work experience with proven real estate experience and a good understanding of U.S. real estate markets within real estate private equity, real estate banking, and operating company
- Proven analytical skills and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Argus Enterprise required
- Knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and financial modeling
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments while focusing on attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with colleagues as part of a team, independently plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong communications skills with the ability to use both written and oral communication to gain internal support and enthusiasm for initiatives and to create thought-provoking materials
