Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group in collaboration with its client, a federal government contractor is searching for a skilled Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will handle advanced accounting, finance and project setup responsibilities for various contracts, will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and be able to work autonomously. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for estimating costs at completion, creating pricing proposals, and designing project setups in CostPoint.
  • Analyze financial data for contract management, including budgeting forecasting, financial reporting (both internal and external), and month-end close processes. Responsibilities also include preparing accruals, reviewing contract financials, completing operating plans based on Estimates at Completion (EAC), reviewing billing, managing contract commitments, and overseeing purchasing requirements.
  • Develop Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for new contract initiatives.
  • Review contract proposals or plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, billing requirements, contract setup

Required Skills:

  • Active Secret Clearance (will verify via FSO)
  • 3-5+ years of federal government contract Accounting experience
  • Experience in FAR, GAAP, CAS. Knowledge of federal accounting processes and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and in a team
  • CostPoint experience strongly preferred
