Digital Consultants is seeking a System Security Analyst to support a government customer. The successful candidate will provide technical support and expertise in the analysis, design, and installation of computer-based systems, LANs/WANs, and communication systems. The System Security Analyst ensures systems are protected against vulnerabilities by conducting regular security assessments, audits, and implementing advanced security protocols. This position also plays a vital role in compliance with federal standards.

Duties to include:

  • Support technicians in the analysis, design, and installation of computer-based systems, ensuring they meet organizational security requirements.
  • Analyze, design, and install local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to facilitate secure communications.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of systems to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Act as the initial responder to security incidents, performing forensic analysis and documenting findings.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments using tools like Nessus or Qualys and work with IT teams to remediate issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and departmental security standards, including FISMA and NIST requirements, and report findings to management.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), risk assessments, and security controls.
Requirements:
  • Clearance Required: Top Secret

Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or an additional four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in supporting technicians and in the analysis, design, and installation of computer-based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis, design, and installation of LANs/WANs and communications systems.
  • General experience must include increasing responsibilities in technical management.
