Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Lead Quotations / Estimator to join our team. This role is essential for managing the quoting / estimating process for new construction and retrofit / turnkey lighting projects. The ideal candidate will excel in analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure precise and timely delivery of quotes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Management: Oversee incoming requests through the Estimating Bid Board. Prioritize urgent requests and manage standard requests efficiently.
  • Project Evaluation: Review fixture schedules, project plans, and specifications to accurately evaluate project scopes and requirements.
  • Turnkey Lighting Packages: Develop comprehensive quotes for turnkey lighting packages, including design, product selection, installation, and logistics.
  • Controls Coordination: Determine if controls are required for projects and coordinate with partners to obtain accurate system pricing.
  • Fixture Management: Request specification books or search for specified products online. Cross-check fixtures and select suitable product alternatives based on budgetary or confirmed needs.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM): Enter BOM data into the system, ensuring precise counts and types of materials. Verify all entries for accuracy.
  • Pricing: Set appropriate pricing for projects based on budgetary estimates, market value, and quoted products.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough checks of input data, including counts and pricing, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Approval Process: Prepare estimates for management review and approval. Publish final estimates to customers once approved.
  • Project Tracking: Add projects to the salesperson's deal tracker, monitor progress, and mark projects as completed in the system.
  • Incentive and Rebate Management: Process and manage rebate requests and incentives to optimize project profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Proposal Development: Assist in creating comprehensive and competitive proposals for new construction and turnkey projects, ensuring all client needs and specifications are addressed.

Required Skills:

  • Commercial lighting product, controls, and turnkey experience
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a team to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of pricing structures, market trends, and product alternatives.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external clients.
  • Familiarity with project management and procurement tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and leading a quoting, estimating, or a related field within the lighting or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating software and CRM systems.
  • Prior experience in managing turnkey lighting projects and installations.
