The Quality Control Manager position develops, implements and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of product (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Formulates the food safety and quality policy.
Establishes and maintains the food safety and quality system.
Supervises inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and technical integrity throughout production cycle.
Provides technical and statistical expertise to teams.
Sets plant-wide policy for food safety and quality management as defined in the food safety and quality management systems documentation.
Serves as the management representative for all food safety and quality systems.
Initiates investigations of food safety and quality incidents throughout the plant.
Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.
Interacts with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
Achieves and maintains the certification necessary to be SQF Practitioner.
Responsible for validating changes to Food Safety Plans and Food Quality Plans that have an impact on the company’s ability to deliver a safe quality food.
Designs, develops and implements quality control training programs.
Assists the management team and provide QC support as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises four employees in the Quality Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
