Overview

The Leave Administrator is responsible for providing oversight and administration of leave requests including FMLA, ADA, state and local leaves, medical and short- and long-term disability leaves. First point of contact providing exemplary customer service and assistance to employees, managers and Human Capital team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing employee leaves from beginning to end, maintaining communication with employees, and internal/external partners throughout the leave. Facilitate smooth and timely return to work.
  • Manages leaves in accordance with FMLA, ADA, state, federal and local laws. Provides guidance to employees and managers of interaction between leave laws, paid time off, short- and long-term disability benefits.
  • Reports and maintains leave of absence tracking utilizing ADP TAM leave platform, preparing leave status and utilization across the enterprise.
  • Administer benefit payment notifications and reconciliations, coordinating with Benefits Manager for benefit changes as needed.
  • Understands company benefits and policies and impact to leave requests.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all accessible information.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in a Leave Administration role required.
  • Superior customer service and high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Expert written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Experience with ADP HRIS and ADP TAM leave absence system a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • An Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. A High School Diploma/GED combined with relevant training and experience in leave administration, or a related area is also acceptable. A minimum of two years in a Leave Administration role is required.

The position is remote but will require time in the Bethesda, MD office periodically.

Basic Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly

The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
