Project Manager

When joining GSW Construction, Inc., you will join a fast-paced construction team that strives for excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Engineer assists the Superintendents and Project Managers in fieldwork support. Projects will be estimating, procurement, preparing reports, subcontracts, and overall support. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must. Upcoming projects are in the Bay Area and surrounding areas.

  • Job management, including job status, safety training and procedures, high-risk tasks, projections & schedule review, subs oversight, CO audits, and daily game plans: Read through and give feedback to the PE(s)
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients.
  • Work within a team and delegate tasks to team members according to their skill sets, experience, and abilities to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Maintain budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
  • Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients.
  • Excellent working knowledge of construction procedures, building systems, and tools, with emphasis on heavy civil construction.
  • Ability to solve problems and work under pressure.
  • Knowledgeable in reading plans, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with workers, subs, vendors, stakeholders, and trades.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Bluebeam, Excel, and Foundations.
  • Assists in achieving a zero-injury culture through the support of our active Safety Program.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates safety improvements and hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to maintain a healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards.
  • Accurately prepares estimates and bids, as required. Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, (or related field) or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience

Industry Expertise:

  • 1-5 years’ experience in the construction industry, comparable technical training, or related experience

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Current on all company-required safety training.
  • Competence to maintain confidential information and avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Knowledge of drafting and ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Ability to utilize computer-aided systems and equipment to calculate material quantity requirements.

  • Knowledge of project management software (Foundations) and/or estimating software (Bluebeam).
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, materials, techniques, and required standards applicable to the discipline.
  • Adherence to the GSW Employee Handbook.

Job Type: Full-time
