Bellrock Group are looking for a Head of compliance that will lead all aspects of hard M&E services to ensure organisational statutory compliance and provision of an effective physical environment on behalf of our extensive client base. This will include the review, preparation, implementation and control of compliance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage both in-house and contracted resource – you will be required to oversee compliance of operations in the area of planned preventative maintenance as well as repairs, improvements to fabric and replacement of engineering services to deliver a safe, cost effective and timely service.
  • Manage and mentor the compliance team, overseeing their personal development ensuring the team is well-equipped to support the wider business in all compliance matters.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new suppliers ensuring all procedures are followed and comply with internal and external processes and procedures.
  • Drive a culture of compliance across the business by delivering training and providing advice and guidance to other departments on risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate existing compliance frameworks, making recommendations for improvements, and ensuring that all regulatory policies are documented, communicated, and properly implemented.
  • Conduct regular internal compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure that business operations align with legal standards and best practices.
  • Regularly review and update compliance policies to reflect any changes in UK ensuring the business remains proactive in its compliance efforts.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to provide regular reports on compliance and risk management activities, as well as offer strategic input on compliance-related issues.

Skills & Experience

  • Substantive experience in managing compliance within the built environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of built environment regulatory frameworks.
  • A working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
  • Knowledge of PPM maintenance systems (SFG20)
  • Microsoft Systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.). – Intermediate level
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation to support divisional function.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, including accurate spelling and grammar and the ability to give explanations clearly.

  • Initiative and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to prioritise own workload with minimal supervision and use of own initiative
  • Ability to work quickly and calmly, especially under pressure and in emergency situations

  • Good at planning and organisation with the ability to manage to day to day workload.
