NBCUniversal's Operations & Technology (O&T) group is the shared services organization that provides the company with a broad portfolio of services and capabilities including media and studio operations, international operations, real estate, infrastructure, security and technology. The O&T group provides global support to NBCUniversal with a 2000+ strong workforce and is a critical to the growth and success of the company.
NBCUniversal's Data & Legal Solutions team operates as a central program operations group embedded across Ad Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Research, Technology, Legal, and HR as trusted partners working together to implement strategic programs throughout the enterprise in order to effectively close gaps between central business and technology groups across a variety of projects. We work to provide relevant insights & structure across our diverse portfolio to power intelligent business decisions required in order to compete within today's highly complex multi-platform & fragmented media landscape with a focus on Legal, Compliance and Data driven business solutions.
At NBCUniversal, digital accessibility isn't just a checkbox on a task sheet- we endeavor to bake it into our products while creating experiences that delight our customers and employees. In this role, you'll partner with multiple Product Owners across the organization as an advocate for the creation of inclusive user experiences. The Director , Digital Accessibility Operations will support in establishing and executing the company's digital accessibility framework. This role involves managing day-to-day accessibility operations, working closely with internal teams to ensure compliance, and driving the adoption of best practices in digital accessibility across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will exhibit in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills with assistive technologies and accessibility principles. Critical to this role will be hands-on consultation with product and engineering teams, embedding accessibility best practices and user experience solutions in the Agile development process. You will also need to be a detail-oriented and an effective communicator, capable of developing relationships and serving as a trusted advisor while driving critical initiatives forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist leadership in developing and executing the digital accessibility strategy.
- Manage the daily operations of the accessibility operations team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the accessibility roadmap.
- Collaborate with product development, UX/UI design, and engineering teams to integrate accessibility into all digital products and services.
- Conduct accessibility audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on digital accessibility best practices.
- Monitor accessibility trends, tools, and technologies, recommending updates to policies and practices as needed.
- Foster a culture of accessibility awareness and inclusion within the organization.
- Maintain a working knowledge of established guidelines, including Section 508, WCAG 2.2, VPAT creation and ADA. Stay current with accessibility laws, standards, and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and at the forefront of accessibility innovation.
- Create best practices and documentation to guide product teams on how to incorporate accessibility into their processes and how to represent accessibility requirements in feature work.
- Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
- Participates in design, code and functional product reviews.
- Works with other Product teams to identify and document bugs or defects.
- Provides leadership and consultation with regards to accessibility best practices, procedures and techniques.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in UX design/product management and/or engineering or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 7+ years experience in product development, working with technical and business teams in refining and delivering product vision.
- Experience with assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, switch devices.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility standards and regulations.
- Experience in conducting accessibility audits and implementing remediation strategies.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent time management / task estimation skills.
- Enterprise bug tracking software experience (ie JIRA).
- Comfortable in an agile fast, fast-paced environment with significant time pressures, multi-tasking without loss of integrity or negative impact on schedules.
- Must be a self-starter & extremely motivated.
