Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in biogas operations management (Preferred)

General Responsibilities:The Electrical and Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting the biogas cluster and its automated controls. This includes conducting preventative maintenance, calibration of instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The position requires a high level of independence and reports directly to the Lead Operator, with reviews based on work orders, reports, and achieved results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot sensors and automation equipment across the biogas cluster.
  • Perform daily checks and facility walkthroughs.
  • Complete work orders and adhere to calibration schedules.
  • Install, maintain, and repair physical plant and pump station components.
  • Work with electronic control systems, including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements.
  • Measure levels, pressures, temperatures, flows, and analytical processes.
  • Utilize and maintain testing instrumentation.
  • Be on-call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at both cluster and remote pump stations.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations.
  • Maintain open communication with the Lead Operator regarding equipment status, malfunctions, and provide recommendations for repairs and improvements.

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to perform and document maintenance activities.
  • Conduct daily checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of instrumentation and controls.
  • Understanding of machinery used in manure treatment processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of control equipment and the ability to diagnose and fix malfunctions.
  • Ability to work independently and make routine decisions on plant operations during the Lead Operator s absence.
