Lead E&I DESIGNER

As a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer at Burrow Global in Beaumont, Texas, you will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of complex E&I designs. Operating under detailed instructions and review, your contributions will be essential in delivering high-quality services that enhance Burrow Global s competitiveness within the global marketplace. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical expertise while providing leadership and guidance to both the design team and other departments involved in project execution.

This role is designed to perform and supervise complex design layouts and may serve as the Design Area Lead on significant projects. You will analyze and provide solutions to complex technical challenges, ensuring that designs align with project objectives and guidelines. As part of your role, you will also prepare advanced 2D CAD drawings, review specifications and vendor documentation, and develop project estimates and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide design leadership for complex E&I projects, ensuring quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare and review 2D CAD drawings of advanced complexity, including instrument indexes, instrument location plans, isometrics, and other detailed drawings.
• Develop and review design specifications, including design criteria and engineering standards.
• Supervise and guide the design team in developing and checking project deliverables, providing technical assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and drafters to ensure project objectives and timelines are aligned.
• Perform bulk material take-off analysis and maintain tabulations for project needs.
• Develop and track project estimates, schedules, and workforce forecasts.
• Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and resolve discrepancies between disciplines.
• Ensure all designs adhere to industry codes, standards, and Burrow Global s departmental practices.
• Interface directly with clients and vendors to clarify design needs and offer solutions.

Basic Job Requirements:

• A combination of education and directly related experience totaling fifteen (15) years.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in a technical field of study.
• Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Practical field experience in E&I design.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and electronic presentation programs.
