Metric5 is currently seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to join a growing team on an exciting and highly visible project for our US Department of the Treasury customer.

The Metric5 team is seeking a skilled Senior Linux Administrator to join an Agile program responsible for the development, maintenance, security, and operational support of existing HR applications. You will support a team that provides operating system administration. You will be embedded in an existing admin team, build systems, create scripts and CronJobs, and communicate regularly with the customer.

Specifics:
  • Triage and troubleshoot issues related to applications and supporting infrastructure, includes frontline incident response
  • Implement and enforce security guidelines using CIS Benchmarks and/or DISA STIG
  • Patch and maintain servers
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Report team and system status and metrics to the customer
  • Administer Oracle Linux servers and some windows servers
  • Contribute to developing infrastructure as code, software build tools, and integration tools
  • Work with application teams to automate file integrations and transfers
  • Provide support, tool management, and operating system administration

Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience administering Oracle Linux/RHEL, network storage and networking.
  • Experience troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with CIS Benchmarks and/or DISA STIG
  • Experience with scripting
  • Experience installing and configuring MFA
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience coordinating with systems and database administrators
  • Experience with management/tracking utilities such as JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience in cloud services (OCI)
  • Able to clearly communicate with other leads, project managers, and customers
  • Familiarity with virtualized environments

Desired Skills:
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of Agile philosophies
  • Able to provide positive recommendation of improvements to existing processes, including tools and applications

Education: Bachelors in a Technical Discipline - Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree

Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience or more


Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually
