Aquatech immediately needs a full-time Project Engineering Manager to work in our Houston, TX office location. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Project Manager will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have excellent time management skills, good communicator, have excellent problem-solving skills, be team-oriented, be customer service driven, and have the ability to delegate.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
  • B.S. in Engineering
  • Ten (10) or more years in Project Management

Job Description:
  • The Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the engineering outputs of diverse teams (Process, Basic, Mechanical, Electrical, Process Controls, External engineering agency, etc.) in proposal preparation and subsequent project execution for Water treatment projects.
  • Making determinations for equipment, staff, and training needs for the Engineering team
  • Hiring and supervising engineering staff
  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Create and maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple disciplines are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Communicating with the project manager to update them on any issues
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost savings.
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Provide inputs to the Project Manager regarding Engineering change management with Clients as well as with vendors/sub-contractors.
  • Be the main point of contact for the Project Manager on all engineering-related issues on the project.
  • Checking the engineering team's output for technical accuracy
  • Coordinating work with other managers and staff
  • Attend customer meetings as required.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Internal communication with all departments, including global offices.
  • Work autonomously without constant guidance.
  • International as well as domestic travel as required (could be extensive at times).

Skill Requirements:
  • Ability to write Engineering specifications.
  • High level of proficiency in Engineering Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, maintain a positive attitude, and have good organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple teams.
  • Ability to apply sensible understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and mentor the team.
  • High level of proficiency in using MS Office products, AutoCAD, 3D Model, Navisworks etc
  • Experience in project-related industry in successful Engineering of projects.
