Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Estimation Engineer to work in our Houston, TX office location. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Estimation Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will be an expert with costing and know the sizing/selection of industrial equipment/instruments. The candidate will be technically solid with engineering programs and also have experience in wastewater piping.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum Five (5) or more years of experience working as an Estimation Engineer
  • Experience in the estimation of Civil works, Mechanical Installation works (Heavy Industrial), Building works, MEP, and E & I Installation work.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor costs per trade and by region/ location.
  • Hands-on experience with RS Means & Sage (Formerly Timberline) estimating software.

Job Description:
  • Generate and maintain proposal-specific costing data.
  • Obtaining vendor/contractor quotes and working in conjunction with the Application Engineers during the proposal development stage
  • Cross-check quotations during the proposal development stage against project specifications and confirm compliance or request revisions from the vendor.
  • Maintain proposal database
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining existing quote log files with pre-bid quotes, project quotes, and project PO data for EPC-related items like:
    • Civil works
    • Concrete
    • Mechanical Equipment Installation
    • Piping Installation
    • Site Fabricated Tanks
    • Pipe Racks and Pipe Supports
    • Building
    • MEP Building works
    • E & I Installation
    • BOP Installation
  • Developing EPC RFQs, and verifying supplier quotations against customer specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Preparing material estimates and labor manhour estimates for the installation activities
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Managing bids from vendors and contractors
  • Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
  • Prepare estimates using estimating software like RS Means & Sage (Formerly Timberline)
  • Presenting prepared estimates to the Project Manager & Management.
  • Compiling and recording actual costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
