Description

The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As a Web Developer Embark Intern, the student will contribute to the development of web applications by leveraging their knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and design principles while collaborating with the team to create responsive and user-friendly websites across various devices.

This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  • Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
  • Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
  • Participate in life skills development courses provided for Embark Interns
  • Participate in Learning & Development apologetics training
  • Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
  • Assist in coding tasks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and actively participate in the testing and debugging process to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the reliability and stability of web applications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers and back-end developers, to understand project requirements, contribute to technical discussions, and ensure cohesive integration of front-end components with back-end systems.
  • Proactively learn, stay updated on industry trends, explore new technologies, and apply knowledge to enhance skills, contributing to continuous improvement in web development practices.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Requirements
  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
  • A basic understanding of fundamental programming concepts, laying a strong foundation for web development tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability and eagerness to quickly learn new technologies, frameworks, and development tools, essential for keeping up with the dynamic nature of web development.
  • Proficient in essential web technologies such as HTML for structuring content, CSS for styling, and JavaScript for client-side scripting, enabling the ability to build and enhance web interfaces.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and troubleshooting issues in code, contribute to the resolution of technical challenges encountered during web development projects.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment, facilitating the exchange of ideas and ensuring efficient coordination on group projects, promoting a positive and productive work atmosphere.

Education & Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits
  • Pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, web development, or a related field.
