IT Systems Software Developer -Level 2

Principal Accountabilities:

In this role, the IT Systems Software Developer -Level 2 will:

• Work on engineering initiatives that drive a medium feature set, while being careful to not create technical debt in the process
• Understand software design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures
• Help debug moderate technical problems. Submit issues so that we can document and improve our services
• Preemptively scan issue backlogs. Actions include but are not limited to familiarizing themselves with pain points in the system, applying relevant labels and triaging, closing them via pull request or other means
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for an enterprise environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review
• Recognize impediments to our efficiency as a team ("technical debt"), propose and implement solutions
• Ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects
• Assist with releases to production environments and setting up post release review
• Support team members with technical challenges while following best practice methods
• Works to become proficient in giving great reviews of their peer's work. This includes being respectful, thoughtful, and flexible
• Analyze data requirements to establish, adapt and maintain data models

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time
• Experience with single-page application development
• Development experience with cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft DevOps
• Back-end language experience with NodeJS, AngularJS, ReactJS, TypeScript, and .Net Core
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like VueJS
• Experience working with GIT version control in distributed teams
• Experience with Microsoft SQL (database design and stored procedures)
• Strong written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
• Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
• Organized with the ability to quickly prioritize and effectively handle critical issues or competing priorities; move with agility from one task to another

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate
• 2+ years relevant development experience
• Experience with C#, GIT, Serverless Architecture, and RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of development standards and best practices
• Experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies
• Firm understanding of database design and management
• Excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to take independent action to achieve results
