Sensor Electrical Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Sensor Electrical Engineer to work on system design, implementation and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, possess good communication skills, and have complete ownership of development and productization of a sensor system. The candidate will have strong technical expertise to deliver independently, as well as great leadership skills to work with internal customers and external partners

Key job responsibilities

\tOversee an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification.

\tDevelop requirements, functional specifications, DVT plans and test procedures.

\tBuild and support concept prototype systems consisting of a mix of in house and OTS components.

\tDesign, implement and debug embedded systems, analog, and digital circuits

\tSupport product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments

\tResearch and advocate for new technologies and projects to help the business.

\tOversee characterization of new internally developed or OTS sensors

\tWrite papers to drive strategic initiatives for Amazon Robotics

\tMentor junior engineers, provide advice and direction to outside projects/other groups

\tParticipate in program and design reviews

\tEnsure program goals are met, working outside of your comfort zone

\tProvide structure where there is ambiguity

\tPresent work through papers and presentations at internal conferences

\tOversee development contracts with outside vendors

\tBe comfortable communicating clearly and succinctly in writing and verbally with leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

- Experience with the project management of technical projects
