Job Description:
Searching for a talented Linux Systems Administrator to join the engineering team supporting managed network infrastructures for federal government customers. This position offers hands-on experience in a wide variety of disciplines, including systems integration and test (I&T), data processing and analysis, and troubleshooting issues on the operational system. The working environment is challenging, dynamic, and fast-paced. This position offers opportunities to work with state-of-the-art hardware and operating systems performing systems administration, troubleshooting, and supporting a mission-critical system.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide daily engineering support to a mission-critical system with a 0.99999 availability requirement.
  • Troubleshoot complex operational issues performing root cause analysis working with the customer, field engineers, and internal teams.
  • Manage and maintain Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain system security measures.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Manage and maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Collaborate with development and test teams to optimize system performance for applications.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior system administrators and IT staff.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Maintain an ever-growing Dell EMC disk storage arrays.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
