Job Description:

BCT is seeking an experienced Data Quality Analyst for one of our larger financial clients. This individual will work closely with other stakeholders, such as business data owners, data scientists, product owners and developers to identify and resolve data quality issues across the client s data ecosystem, and ensure data is consistent, reliable and compliant with data-related policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on experience in planning and leading data quality projects using major data quality and governance platforms such as Informatica, Ataccama, or SAS.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the assessment, improvement, and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of an organization's critical data assets.
  • Helps support data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address data-related problems and ensure high-quality standards.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance data processes, reporting methodologies, and data collection methods.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to streamline data flow and optimize reporting efficiency.
  • Works with project teams to deliver data quality improvement solutions which may include data profiling, data analysis, DQ rule development and dashboards
  • Develops and implements data quality checks to identify and resolve data quality and integrity issues.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots data anomalies in current and upstream systems.
  • Responsible for day-to-day configuration and maintenance of data catalogue and data quality platform
  • Works with project teams to deliver data quality improvement solutions which may include data profiling, data analysis, DQ rule development and dashboards
  • Builds or configures integrations for new data sources for data quality initiatives
  • Manages data quality issue backlog and requests for new data quality projects
  • Develops customizations as required for projects which may include API integrations, custom dashboards and workflows
  • Works with technical teams and vendor to resolve technical issues in the platform

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years in IT
  • 7+ years in Data Quality, Data Governance and DQ Stewardship
  • Strong understanding of data quality concepts, metrics, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to collaborate with data owners, business analysts, and IT teams to define data quality requirements and address data quality concerns.
  • Able to partner with data governance, security and compliance stakeholders to ensure compliance with data quality policies and regulations.
  • Able to develop and implement data quality standards and metrics for various data sets.
  • Able to design and execute data profiling and analysis to identify data inconsistencies, anomalies, and missing values.
  • Able to conduct root cause analysis to understand the source of data quality issues and recommend solutions.
  • Able to implement data cleansing and correction procedures to improve data accuracy and completeness.
  • Able to develop and maintain data quality monitoring dashboards, score cards and reports for stakeholders.
  • Able to stay up to date on emerging data quality trends and technologies and recommend improvements to data management practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or Engineering
  • Experience in Financial Services and Banking Industry.
  • Experienced in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java and others
  • Experience using data record matching and deduplication techniques
  • Knowledge of reference management, hierarchy management and code value standardization
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, data base engineering, data modeling, ETL, MDM and data warehousing
  • Hands-on experience with configuration and maintenance of data quality and governance tools such as Ataccama, Informatica, Collibra or similar
  • Knowledge in administering the data catalogue / metadata repository and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Experience in applying patch / upgrades and bug-fixes to DQ platform by and liaising with the platform vendor.
