Control Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis: Analyze real-time and historical data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues. Develop strategies for process optimization based on data insights.

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve control system malfunctions and software bugs. Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and system backups.

  • Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect control systems from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including automation engineers, process engineers, and IT professionals, to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other infrastructure c components.

Control Engineer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as software engineer or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in control software platforms will be plus.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3).

  • Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for control systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
