THE WORK

As a member of the Global Sustainment Courseware and Training team, the Technical Service Engineer/Technical Trainer will play a vital role in developing and delivering training programs and technical documentation to support Lockheed Martin's Converged Cyber, Signals Intelligence, and Electronic Warfare Family of Systems. The successful candidate will apply instructional system design best practices and contractual requirements to create effective training materials and ensure the readiness of our customers' personnel. The candidate will develop training material specific to the program and deliver training to US Service Members.
The Technical Service Engineer/Technical Trainer will:
Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training and associated course material as directed and defined in contract requirements.
Determine course content and student learning objectives; prepare course syllabi, lesson plans, and student manuals.
Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing engineers and other subject matter experts, observing performance of procedures, review technical specifications, engineering drawings, schematics, and other materials.
Evaluate engineering data and technical documentation and make appropriate updates to course material.
Conduct formal instructor-led technical training for domestic and international training customers, including, but not limited to system maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and depot maintenance. Training conduct includes classroom lecture, bench-level lab exercises, full system operation, and maintenance/troubleshooting lab exercises.
Coordinate all aspects or training preparation, including preparing the classroom, reserving lab space, and support personnel.
Counsel students, evaluates student performance, and maintains class records.
Provide subject matter expert support for the development of technical documentation, such as technical procedure manuals, depot manuals, user manuals, and other related technical publications, as needed.
Domestic and/or international travel required for extended periods of time.
Work location based out of Syracuse, NY; Owego, NY; or Valley Forge, PA with the ability to travel between these locations to support classified meetings.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience.

Experience developing technical training materials and conducting technical training in a classroom and hands-on environment.

Experience conveying complex technical information effectively and succinctly in a written and verbal form.
Ability to understand technical source materials to support development of training content.

Experience conducting instructor-led training on highly complex technical systems.

Experience supporting highly complex technical systems incorporating both hardware and software components.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with students, subject matter experts, and customers.

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, with eventual Top Secret clearance desired.

Desired skills

Experience with US Army Electronic Warfare or Signals Intelligence Systems

Expertise developing SCORM compliant training and familiar with US Army TRADOC processes. Desired knowledge of working with the US Army Cyber Schoolhouse and New Systems Integration Branch (NSIB).

US Army Basic Instructor Course (or equivalent) certification

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $71,000 - $136,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $81,600 - $153,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
