This is a Senior Manager role on the Ground Systems team within Combat Systems in Engineering and Technology at Aeronautics.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Manager, the selected candidate will coordinate with the LoBe Team, the Program Management Office and Control Account Managers (CAM), and other engineering disciplines within Ground Systems to ensure that program requirements and deliverables are met. The Senior manager will lead a team of engineers skilled in DevSecOps methodologies, tools, and technologies. Specific responsibilities include the following:

Ensuring operational best practices by working closely with the team and other disciplines
Leading a team responsible for remaining cutting edge in DevSecOps methodologies, tools and process
Strategically planning and driving automation technologies and tools across the software development lifecycle from requirements to development to testing and operations
Serve as a resource and mentor for a team of DevSecOps first line leaders
Responsible for enhancing and maintaining telemetry in support of monitoring tool suites throughout code and infrastructure
Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development
Collaborate with Engineering Line of Business (LOBe), Program Management Office and other Engineering Functional Senior Managers to plan and execute personnel assignments to match staffing demands
Contribute to or lead cost estimating efforts with demanding schedules, including both competitive proposals and on-contract growth ECPs and ROMs
Drive technical excellence, affordability and continuous improvement while supporting program execution and adherence to engineering development processes, and promoting focus on customer value
Employing Agile development principles and techniques while providing guidance to the design, development, documentation, and testing of a large, complex, logistics software product
Leader duties may include organizational breakdown structure manager, escalation and removal of team impediments and management of risk

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field

Previous Systems Architecture, and/or Engineering experiences commensurate with position

Experience with agile methodologies, especially Scaled Agile and/or Scrum

Experience in leading teams and providing related technical direction

Excellent written and verbal skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and willing/able to use/learn project management software like Jira

Desired skills

Proficient in Product Engineering, Architecture, Software and Agile development

Skilled in cost management and earned value

Experienced in leading diverse teams across cultures and geographies

Accomplished in cultural transformation and effective mentoring

Expertise in new business development, proposal writing, and standardization

DoDAF, UAF, or similar Frameworks, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Cameo tool

Requirements Engineering and Requirements
validation and verification

Interface Control Document (ICD) development

Test planning and execution - especially automated integration testing and requirements verification

Design reviews
Software architecture, design, development, and test experience - Shift-Left concepts, DevSecOps, microservices, event-driven design

Working knowledge of Cameo or other system modeling tool

Working knowledge of DOORS or other requirements management tool

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $140,400 - $269,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
