Job Description
You will be an Infrared Camera Systems Engineer leading technical teams in the development of IR sensors.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Infrared Systems Camera Engineer, you will be responsible for helping shape and develop future products as well as executing in the support of existing products currently in production.
Your responsibilities will include:
Interfacing with internal and external customers.
Performing EO/IR analysis and modeling to support in the development of system concepts, and to verify designs meet their requirements. Acting as project engineer, or technical lead, making plans, monitoring program tasks, as well as tracking schedules, budgets, and earned value. Supervising and directing engineers and technicians in mechanical, electrical, and optical tasks required for program performance.
Performing system debugging, troubleshooting, and providing technical direction and support to production operations.

The region is known primarily for agriculture and tourism. Major crops include wine grapes, lettuce, strawberries, and artichokes. Goleta is near the University of California, Santa Barbara campus. Much of Goleta is considered to be a quiet suburban community while Santa Barbara tends to attract most of the tourists and the area's residents. Goleta is about 8 miles west of the city of Santa Barbara, along the coast (the coast runs east to west in this portion of southern California).

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering, mathematics, or science field
Engineering or Physics background
Ability to lead technical teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Basic understanding of infrared sensor systems and supporting, mechanical, and optical systems.
Experience troubleshooting and performing failure analysis of sophisticated hardware.
Desired skills
Master's degree or PhD from an accredited college in related discipline
Strong customer coordination experience
Experience with IR camera systems
Understanding of FPA manufacturing technologies
Closed cycle cryogenic systems.
Vacuum packaging
MATLAB programming expertise
Transition of high technology product from Development to Production
Radiometric testing and analysis of IR systems or sensors
Familiar with high vacuum and ESD handling requirements
background or familiarity with electronics and equipment related to infrared video collection, analysis, and test
Understanding of reliability engineering and 6 sigma principles.

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $89,600 - $171,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
