Job Description

The Training Device Systems Engineer (SE) is a multi-discipline role and reports directly to the C-130J MATS TSSC Engineering Manager. This position will be located in Japan. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for fielded Aircrew and Maintenance Training Devices. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Successful candidate will have a background in Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and vulnerability scanning, maintaining the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM), virus scanning and other security related processes. The candidate will perform routine security scans and provide engineering level research when requested. The candidate will apply information technology security principles and configure security settings, apply security patches, and conduct media reviews. Assist in the development and implementation of government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked systems and coordinate government agency approvals. Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of classified computing systems with the programs and information systems security manager (ISSM). Assist with self-inspection reviews. Assist in conducting comprehensive investigation of computer security incidents, coordinating with other organizations for expertise.

Performs/analyzes pre-certification checks and supports all government Aircrew & Maintenance Training Device Certifications. Performs testing/recheck on all device discrepancies, and coordinates & performs the QA testing of Design Changes prior to Government acceptance. Point Of Contact for engineers, Configuration Management and the Government customer for DC resolution.

Ensures proper application of Design Changes (DC) in order to sustain a standardized fleet of devices. Maintains traceability to customer requirements, and configuration/version control for all products. Analyzes system configuration to determine applicability of DCs. Coordinates with Engineering to develop tailored, compatible training loads on a quarterly basis for each site/device. Delivers/installs software upgrades, facilitates testing and customer acceptance. Maintains and installs current, standardized Visual and Radar Databases across entire fleet of ATDs.

Develops/delivers metrics to management and customers in order to support data-driven decisions. Develops/implements processes across the enterprise focusing on synergy, efficiency, and effectiveness. Tracks CDRL deadlines. Coordinates with responsible managers for timely delivery. Ensures proper documentation, and posting to proper repositories. Coordinates customer comments as necessary and rectifies deficiencies when needed.

Professional presentation skills, written communications and excellent computer skills required. Candidate must be familiar with Microsoft, Linux operating Systems as well standard Microsoft and Adobe applications, be a self-starter, a disciplined worker and have a professional reputation for integrity. Basic Qualifications

Ability to develop documentation, instructions, and presentations required.
Should be familiar with military and industry configuration management standards.
Requires understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts, including the interrelated disciplines of Configuration Management and Change Management.
Microsoft Windows 10 experience.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Professional presentations skills and written communication.
Must have one of the following IAT level II certifications or higher: CompTia Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP
Must work well independently and in-group settings.
Must be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance.
International and Domestic travel is required
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain the minimum certification requirements as directed in DoD Directive 8570.01M to an IAM level 1, i.e. Comptia's Security+ certification or equivalent.
Experience supporting Cybersecurity activities as a Cybersecurity Engineer, Systems Administrator or Information Systems Engineer and be familiar with the NIST and RMF Certification & Accreditation processes.
Must be familiar with Hardening & Mitigation Processes as well as implementation of the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) as well as other industry security best practices.
Candidate will be required to evaluate vulnerability and security configuration assessment results and maintain and update the baseline security posture for accredited systems.
Excellent Information Technology and computer skills with a broad technical background having sound knowledge in routing, switching and other networking components.
Must be able to travel and work flexible hours.
Experience with Industry standard operating systems such as Microsoft, Linux, Apple, Cisco and others.

Desired skills

VEEAM Backup Software
VB.NET or C#
MS SQL Server 2014 or higher. Understanding of database management and backups.
SQL and Transact SQL (T-SQL) query writing, execution, and tuning.
Crystal Reports and/or MS SQL Server Reporting Services.
Knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework
Working knowledge of Configuration Management software desired.
Familiarity with C-130J simulator systems preferred.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, required and Visio desired.
Knowledge of tracking software such as Jira or Master Control, and source code/version control management in GitHub operations desired.
Ability to develop software scripts for Windows/Unix environments.
Languages could consist of Unix Shell Script, Linux, MS Visual Basic, MS Visual C++ and others.
System Security Plan Development.
Other relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, Linux).
Networking or System Administration experience.
COMSEC knowledge
Experience working in a simulator environments.

Work Schedule Information

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
