We are looking for an Azure Architect Technical Lead to support all phases of development, design, modernization, and migration in support of a government multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants and growing. You will serve as a technical leader and mentor to the development and infrastructure teams ensuring that all cloud solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This opportunity is remote, but you must reside and perform all work within the United States. This position requires working online from 8:00 AM EST to 5:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities:
  • Azure Cloud Architecture and Strategy
    • Lead the design and development of complex cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
    • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines for cloud adoption and migration
    • Define the cloud strategy, architecture roadmap, and technical direction for cloud projects, aligning with business objectives and industry standards
    • Provide technical oversight and architectural leadership across multiple cloud projects, ensuring consistency and quality of cloud solutions
  • Solution Design and Implementation
    • Design and implement Azure-based solutions leveraging services such as Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Storage
    • Oversee the deployment of applications using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
    • Ensure cloud solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability
    • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies based on requirements and cost considerations
  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship
    • Serve as the technical lead for Azure projects, providing guidance to development, operations, and infrastructure teams
    • Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a place of continuous learning and technical excellence
    • Drive innovation by researching and recommending new cloud services and solutions that align with the organization's goals
  • Security and Compliance
    • Design secure cloud architecture, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards
    • Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption
    • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities in the cloud environment
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
    • Communicate architectural decisions, strategy, and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Partner with other technical leaders to create a shared vision of cloud architecture and establish architectural principles for the organization
  • Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting
    • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues, ensuring minimal impact to the organization and driving root cause analysis

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Public Trust- Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance (called "Entry on Duty")
  • ship required - personnel with Permanent Resident (s) or Work Visas are not eligible for this position
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification
  • 7+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience
  • 5+ years of developing systems requirements and design specifications in Azure
  • 3+ years of experience in project management/ lead architect positions in Azure development or implementation
  • Expertise in AZ PowerShell, GitLab, and Ansible
  • Expert in leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Azure cloud and deploying in Government environments.
  • Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment.
  • Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$89,500-$188,000
