Description
Lead and execute the cloud migration projects from On-prem Server to Azure, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
Implement best practices for database security and compliance with data privacy regulations, incorporating access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, working closely with development teams to optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and resource utilization.
Implement and maintain robust monitoring solutions to provide real-time insights into database health, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
Conduct regular health checks, capacity planning, and upgrade/migration activities to maintain system reliability and stability.
Perform essential database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
Leading the architecture, design, development & testing processes and support of databases and other services on Azure
Driving and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Delivering high-quality, innovative and scalable technical solutions that make a tangible impact.
Ensure 24x7 availability with on-call support for critical database systems hosted on premise and on multiple clouds.
Design, Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Driving automation by developing intuitive or simpler process designs.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and interacting with global stakeholders.
Constant process improvement thinking to reduce delivery time and develop innovative solutions.

What you will need:
7+ years experience in Database Operations with a Master s degree (Computer Science/ Informational Technology preferred).
Highly experienced with database platforms (i.e.MS SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Postgres, Azure SQL ) to support high volume OLTP systems.
Robust knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Analysis Service and Microsoft Fabric
Strong knowledge of data warehouse systems and MPP database architecture desired
Experience in architecture design and managing Databases in cloud and on-prem.
Hands on experience with SQL and DB performance tuning and rapid problem troubleshooting/resolution
Understanding and ability to work with IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Aws Lambda, Azure Resource Manager etc.
Skilled in scripting languages such as PowerShell, python.
Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility and accountability.
Commitment to teamwork as a contributor.
Ability to envision and create automation for provisioning and administration tasks.
Document and maintain database policies, procedures, and standards.
Relevant database/cloud certifications preferred.
