As a Lead Splunk Administrator on the Enterprise Monitoring platform, you'll help us deliver best in class monitoring and observability capabilities. In this role, you'll work within an agile delivery structure, helping to advance Progressive's digital observability strategy. You will be responsible for maintenance of monitoring technologies (such as Splunk) ensuring that our platforms and supporting services are performant, resilient, and optimized via industry and vendor best practices. Additionally, you'll engage with internal organizations and various vendors in support of service costing strategies.

This is a remote position for US based work only.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 am to 5 pm ET
On-call every 7 weeks for 1 week

Must-have qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication, Math) and minimum of six years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in designing and scripting infrastructure solutions.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum of eight years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in designing and scripting infrastructure solutions.

Preferred skills
  • Minimum of five years working as an administrator of Splunk technologies which include but not limited to: Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise (SE), Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), and Splunk Storage (DDAA, DDAS, DDSS).
  • Demonstrated understanding of advanced SPL commands (SPL2 a plus) to help maximize SVC usage relative to search and dashboard development
  • Proven track record of leading complex initiatives and working across IT teams in designing and developing scalable capabilities and services
  • Experience with data normalization and modeling, as well as optimization of large database platforms; e xperience developing security models that leverage role-based access controls
  • Experience with Splunk Edge or Ingest processors, Splunk Ingest Actions, and/or Cribl Stream

Compensation
  • $128,000 - $139,200/year
  • Annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
