Senior Options Trader

Larson Financial Holdings, LLC is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Options Trader to lead the development and execution of a new derivatives trading program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and managing options overlays, including but not limited to basis trades, covered calls, exchange fund replication, and hedging strategies. This role is a blend of strategy development and hands-on trading, offering the unique opportunity to shape the future of our derivatives program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Design, implement, and continuously refine an options trading program that aligns with the firm's investment objectives. Focus on options overlays, including basis trades, covered call writing, exchange fund replication, and hedging strategies.
• Trading Execution: Serve as the primary trader, executing options strategies across various asset classes. Ensure best execution practices, manage risk, and adjust positions based on market conditions.
• Portfolio Management: Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts to integrate options strategies into broader portfolios. Optimize risk/reward profiles for client accounts using options-based solutions.
• Risk Management: Monitor and manage the risk associated with derivative trades, ensuring alignment with firm and client risk parameters.
• Technology Integration: Assist in selecting and integrating the necessary technology, platforms, and tools to support a scalable and efficient options trading program.
• Training and Mentorship: Work closely with junior traders and investment team members, providing education on options strategies and derivatives market dynamics.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards. Develop reporting systems to track performance and provide transparency to senior management and clients.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in options trading, with significant exposure to options overlays (basis trades, covered calls, exchange fund replication, and hedging).
• Licenses/Certifications: Series 63.
• Derivatives Expertise: Deep knowledge of options strategies, derivatives markets, and risk management frameworks.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions in fast-paced market environments.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with advanced trading platforms, data analytics, and options pricing models.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also being able to lead initiatives independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in building and scaling a derivatives trading program within a financial advisory or institutional investment context.
• Experience in Python, C++, or MatLab.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Series 24.
